The Victorian era was so named when Queen Victoria ruled Britain (1837 to 1901).
During Queen Victoria’s reign Britain managed to build a huge empire. Britain became the most powerful and richest country in the world. It was the largest empire that had ever existed, ruling a quarter of the world’s population.
This is a subject we’ve now covered twice but is an easy one to cover at home, as there are various transport types all around us every day!
An easy challenge at home was to search the Internet together looking for images. Learning that transport doesn’t just cover cars and planes!
I know it’s difficult juggling work, family and having time for yourself. Just a few little things though can help out your kids with these exciting subjects. There are many days when I feel like the only thing I can do is put them in front of the TV whilst I cook the dinner. I just have to try and remind myself that if I remember what resources are out there, maybe they could watch a programme or YouTube channel about Space…
When the subject of Robots came up for my daughter in Year 2 - I must say I got very excited. You can have so much fun with the subject of Robots - junk modelling, role play and also playing with our Lego Boost!
